CAREGIVER FATIGUE

Caregiving is hard. We can help.

 Caregivers play a vital role in the healthcare system, providing essential support to patients. However, the demands of caregiving can lead to significant stress and fatigue.


- Causes of Caregiver Fatigue -


  • Emotional Stress: Watching a loved one struggle with health issues can be emotionally taxing.
  • Physical Demands: Providing physical care can be exhausting, especially for caregivers of individuals with severe mobility issues.
  • Lack of Personal Time: Caregivers often sacrifice their own needs, leading to burnout.


- Results of Caregiver Fatigue - 


  • Exhaustion: Constant tiredness that does not improve with rest. Examples of of situations resulting in exhaustion include: Not being able to leave your loved one alone and  chronic sleep disturbances.  
  • Illness: You experience flare ups, inflammation or other conditions related to increased stress and fatigue.
  • Irritability: Increased frustration or anger.
  • Withdrawal: Loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed.
  • Indecision: Difficulty in making decisions about the care your loved one receives.
  • Loneliness: You feel isolated and alone.
  • Emotional dysregulation: Uncontrollable tearfulness or crying.
